Over
the last years, Kim Dong Publishing House has donated more than
5 billion in many social activities which contributed to the community
development, especially projects for children.
Taking care of Hero Vietnamese Mother:
In the past
two wars in Vietnam, many families had made contribution and sacrifies
for the cause of national liberation. In many family, many fathers,
sons had never come back after the wars and many mother were conferred
to the title “Hero Vietanamese Mother”. In recognition of the
contribution and sacrifies of the Hero Vietnamese Mother, since
1995, Kim Dong Publishing House has been taking care of 100 mothers
throughout Vietnam by supporting financially and visiting the
mothers annually.
Doraemon Foundation – Educational Supporting Foundation
for Vietnamese Children.
Kim Dong
Publishing House was the first publisher in Vietnam introduce
Doraemon, a character created by Japanese author Fujio Fujiko,
to Vietnamese children. In 1995, Doraemon Foundation was jointly
established with the support from author F. Fujiko, Shogakukan
Inc. and Kim Dong Publishing House in which Kim Dong Publishing
House, responsible for fund controller, contributed 2 billion
Vietnamese dong, author F. Fujiko and Shogakukan Inc. contributed
1 billion Vietnamese dong (the royalty fee from Doraemon Vietnamese
edition). Up to now, the Foundation have given scholarship to
5000 children, who live in difficult situation but achieved good
result in study.
Building 1000 bookselves in poor communes and provinces
in remote areas.
This
is Kim Dong Publishing House’s long term program with an aim to
help children in poor and remote areas to have chance to read.
Today, several thousand copies of books have been delivered and
at each provinces, Kim Dong Publishing House has built one bookself
at the province’s Children palace so that all children can freely
access the books.
Building schools and classes for Primary school children
in difficult communes and provinces.
With
the purpose to help children in difficult situation to have chance
to go to school, Kim Dong Publishing House has built schools and
classes for kindergarten children and primary school children
in poor and remote areas. In the past ten years, Kim Dong Publishing
House has built 11 schools throughout Vietnam.
